Despite a soggy July and reports that a months worth of rain has fallen in the first 2 weeks, better weather is apprently just around the corner.

Met Office spokesman Helen Chivers said: ‘So far we only have figures for the first two weeks of the month, but it certainly continued to rain in the second half of July – it has certainly been wetter than expected.

‘Temperatures have still been above normal. For the first half of this month the UK average has been  (61f) which is a degree above normal. It has been warm, but it has been wet.’

August is promising to be much improved with much warmer and drier conditions predicted for much of the country.
